An easy loop at 1,300 m around Passy's famous emerald lake, where Mont Blanc reflects in water so clear you can see the sunken trunks below the surface. Wooden boardwalks carry the path around the shore, then gravel tracks swing west through the conifers beneath the Fiz cliffs. A protected natural site and an official Passy circuit, listed by the tourist office as dog-friendly on leash.

Good to know

Two rules to know: dogs stay on the leash, and they're not allowed in or on the lake. Swimming is forbidden for humans too, so despite the name there's no swim stop; three drinking-water points along the way (marked on the map) cover your dog instead. Skip the temptation to extend towards Lac de Pormenaz: the Passy nature reserve up there bans dogs entirely. The lake draws big crowds, so come early for a quiet lap, and mind the boardwalks when wet. The access road closes in winter. Restaurant du Lac Vert sits right by the water for a post-walk stop.
