Giro del Sasso Lungo

Moderate DoloPaws route-audited Paid access

Route around the Sasso Lungo massif built from three verified OSM/Waymarked Trails sources (relations 9435720, 1640019, and a local bridging segment of Alta Via 9 delle Dolomiti, relation 11094256), deliberately avoiding trail 525 and the Forcella del Sassolungo climb — confirmed to stay 1.48km+ clear of the Forcella at every point, so there's no cable-assisted exposed section on this route. Confirmed dog-friendly for the official long variant of this hike via AllTrails ("Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas") — this route covers similar lower-elevation territory.

Good to know

NOT a perfectly closed loop — a 225m gap remains between the start and end of the GPS track (down from 3.17km before adding the Alta Via 9 bridging segment), plus one internal ~920m jump partway through where two source segments meet. This is a long day out (18km) — better suited to fit dogs. The bridging segment hasn't been individually checked for hazards, so keep extra attention there until it's verified on the ground.
