Le Marais de Pré Lombard

Low-risk DoloPaws route-audited
Le Marais de Pré Lombard

Photo: Decathlon Outdoor (edited)

A level circuit through the countryside west of La Motte-Servolex, waymarked by the commune and rich in biodiversity interpretation panels. The route climbs gently over the Servolex plateau past the château, crosses the Grands Champs farmland to the hamlets of Beauvoir and Montarlet, then drops to the marshes and follows a wide track along the Leysse, whose panels explain the fish life of this Lac du Bourget tributary. Dogs are welcome on a leash, out of respect for the wildlife and the working farmland.

Where to start

Start here: chemin de Pré-Marquis, La Motte-Servolex; park opposite the Post Office (place Rémi Catin), or bus C / 1 to La Motte Centre

Good to know

The leash is required along the whole loop, and it matters most by the Leysse and the streams, where wildlife rules apply, and through the farmed sections. Almost shadeless, so skip hot afternoons and carry water, as no fountains are mapped. The final stretch runs close to the motorway, so expect traffic noise and keep nervous dogs close. Our line was rebuilt from the full waymarked relation and shows the true closed loop at 7.2 km; the commune's fiche quotes 9 km for its fuller variant.
